About Us

Action 4 Animals Hawai'i's mission is to promote the well-being of cats and dogs on the Big Island. We support responsible pet ownership and advocate for the humane treatment of animals, through both adoption and TNRM (trap, neuter, return, and manage). Our fostering and adoption programs give a chance at a loving, lifelong home. Through education, community outreach, and partnerships with fellow-rescues & the Haaii County Animal Control & Protection Agency, we are dedicated to reducing pet overpopulation, reducing disease, & improving lives.

Since 2022 we have participated in the adoption of over 1400 Big Island animals!

IF YOU WOULD LIKE TO SURRENDER AN ANIMAL
For Cats:

Please fill out our cat intake application. Note, filling out the application does not guarantee we can take your cat/kitten. We typically only consider kittens under 12 weeks of age.

For Dogs:
Our dogs are strictly intakes from County of Hawaii Animal Control & Protection. We do not take owner surrenders. You can contact Animal Control by calling (808) 327-3558. They have locations in Orchidland and in Kona.
