Volunteer Appreciation:
Paula Pippin

Shout out to Paula Pippin, dog foster extraordinaire. She has just celebrated the adoption of her 30th foster dog—and without missing a beat, she’s opening her home to two more. Paula is always willing to say “yes” when it means saving a life, offering patience, love, and a safe place for dogs who need it most. Her commitment and compassion truly change lives, one foster at a time. Mahalo, Paula! 🐾💛

Ambassador of Peace:

Axle aka "Aloka"

Axle - Our “Aloka” – Our Ambassador for Peace

Axle, Action 4 Animal's “Aloka,” carries a quiet presence that speaks volumes.

He leads not with noise, but with calm strength, kindness, and heart.

He proudly led our Paws 4 Peace Walk in solidarity with the Buddhist monks' Walk for Peace, alongside their cherished rescue dog, Aloka. The name Aloka means “light,” and it fits Axle beautifully. With his quiet strength & peaceful presence, Axle brings light wherever his paws touch the ground.

As our Ambassador for Peace, Axle represents everything we believe in — compassion, second chances, and the healing power of love. He reminds us that rescue is not only about saving lives, but about creating connection, understanding, and hope within our community.

We are grateful to walk beside him and honored to share his light.

Axle is a 4 year old, 60 lb, gentle boy. While his favorite place is by your side, Axle also gets along beautifully with other dogs, cats, and kids of all ages. He truly is an easygoing, go-with-the-flow kind of boy who seems to fit in wherever he’s welcomed.

Helping Community Friends

Action 4 Animals Hawaii works closely with community members and County of Hawaii Animal Control to try to save as many dogs as possible. It is always challenging when our furry family members need to find a new home, for any reason. To help ensure that animals do not end up in the shelter, this section is for pups in need of re-homing that are currently being housed by interim owners, who cannot keep them long term. If you see a dog listed below that you are interested in adopting or fostering, please let us know and we will put you in contact with the owner or care-giver.

Action 4 Animals Hawaii is a 501c(3).
